Fiction

This marks the start of an irregular series (how irregular remains to be seen – maybe very!) wherein FOCW goes deep into the stacks of his local all-queer library and finds an alternate, and (strangely!) unpublished and unknown, version of a more, shall we say, “mainstream” tale.  These will be presented here for all who remain frustrated with the almost total blackout of non-straight heroes and heroines from all eras of the Western canon.

The pieces will necessarily be short(ish) – FOCW can’t be re-writing and publishing entire novels on this blog after all, as much as he would like to.  But he hopes that these stories, tales, essays, etc. will inspire queers and others who feel themselves marginalized by pop and high culture to take another view of the literature presented to us; to read and re-read it critically; to question some of the assertions and assumptions found inside; and, if FOCW is really lucky, to write some literature of their own.

Please enjoy…
